UMU Incoming Mobility Programme ACTion

The U-IMPACT Project “UMU Incoming Mobility Programme ACTion” was approved in People COFUND Call 2010. The started date of this 4-years project is 1st November 2011. The objective of U-IMPACT Project is to refine an existing UMU postdoctoral scheme. As a summary, the improvement of the existing Postdoctoral Programme will be based on three main points: 1. Increasing the number of fellowships: The fellowships have been increased from 4 to 10, representing an increase of 150% 2. Improving the fellows’ conditions: improvement of living allowance, and three new allowances will be taking into consideration; mobility allowance, travel allowance and research costs 3. Opening up the Institutional Postdoctoral Programme to a Trans-national Postdoctoral Programme: Researcher of any nationality undertaking trans-national mobility following the trans-national mobility principle set up in the People Programme The Programme requires a budget of €1.206.200, 40% of which is requested as an EC contribution (€482.480). University of Murcia will contribute to the remaining 60% (€732.720) of the Programme budget required. U-IMPACT is addressed to engage highly talented incoming postdocs in projects in order to advance their career development. Incoming researchers will benefit from the infrastructures present at UMU and will interact with the groups working at the university. UMU will benefit from the expertise brought about by the fellows and will increase its visibility and level of internationalization. It is expected that research networks created during the fellowship will be maintained and strengthened throughout these years, thus helping to build an effective European Research Area. The 4-years U-IMPACT Project includes two calls for five fellowships in a two years/call duration program. Both calls have been launched and, as a result, 10 experienced researchers have been selected and they have developed their Research Projects at University of Murcia in the framework of UMU Incoming Mobility Programme ACTion (U-IMPACT). Upon evaluation of the final report, all of researchers have been awarded a certificate of completion of the Postdoctoral Programme. In order to follow the evolution of the U-IMPACT Programme, researchers have been asked to complete an evaluation questionnaire at the end of the project. After two years, the researchers will be asked to complete a follow-up questionnaire. These questionnaires are requested for evaluation and monitoring purposes. As a conclusion, project objectives have been fully fulfilled, main planned activities have been developed and ten Experienced Researchers have developed their research projects at the University of Murcia.
