The project »The Night has its Might« No. 955391 addresses the problem of how to motivate (young) EU citizens for scientific research. Three different tools implement the answer: Citizen Science Project, diverse integrative and interactive activities at the NIGHT, and supporting promotion campaign. The project's importance for Slovenian and EU society is to enhance interest in scientific research among various interest groups. Citizens' Science Project, an awareness campaign that focuses on a relevant and problematic science issue, enhances scientific research among EU citizens. Citizens get acquainted with research methods, tools, and implementation of research results. 4 EU corners took place at the events NIGHT To promote the EU dimension and motivate, enhance and integrate active and potential MSCA's in Slovenia. The project focuses on active, genuine, and spontaneous interest in science among young EU citizens. It also focuses on a relevant scientific issue that gets highlighted and generates structured results. The approach addresses the scientific problem, and citizens can actively participate in research and search for solutions. The EU society can participate in active scientific research and engage in different participation ways throughout the project. The project's objectives, to: • bring researchers closer to the general public • increase awareness of research and innovation activities • support public recognition of researchers • create an understanding of the impact of researchers' work on citizen daily life • encourage young people to embark on research careers Involve addressing more than 0,5 Mio people through a media campaign, more than 3000 individuals, and other groups of interest in 25 cities along with the Republic of Slovenia. The objectives contribute to the primary research methodology of the actual research project. The success of NOCMOC includes in surplus of sites and organizations involved. The project's success reflects the excess of media reach. The diversity of participating organizations also shows that organizations' interest has resulted in a surplus of third partners. 30% more third partners were involved in the NIGHT in 2020. The project also attracted nine supporting entities, which shows that the project successfully promoted science's popularization in Slovenia in 2020.

Project objective
Noč ima svojo moč [The Night has it might] (NOCMOC) [NIGHTMIGHT] project combines a strong awareness campaign embedding a major media campaign and a citizen science project with activities spread all over Slovenia. The core objectives of the NOCMOC project is to raise awareness about the research and its benefits, overcome stereotypes, stimulate curiosity all over Slovenia and excite youngsters to take up the research careers.The awareness campaign will comprise national TV broadcasts, radio broadcasts, press presence and a social media campaign, reaching 100.000 people. The innovative awareness campaign will be based on the Citizen Science Project – Chestnut tracking. We expect, over 1.000 groups, families and individuals will participate in the Citizen Science Project and experience the research methodology-hands on, and above all contribute to the basic research methodology of the real research project.The NIGHT activities will take place in 25 cities across Slovenia and will bring together over 30 research-related institutions to raise awareness about research and innovation, its social and economic benefits as well as its variety of careers. Over 30.000 visitors from different target groups will take part in the NIGHT activities spread all over Slovenia. Activities will combine science festivals on the main square of four cities, science shows, simulations, research days in primary and secondary schools, lectures and workshops in public spaces such as libraries, retirement homes and museums, science espressos, EU corners, open doors at the research institutions, science centre and cultural institutions and many more - altogether over 200 individual activities in 24 hours from day until night.
