Project objective
The project concerns the investigation of mainly two types of processes in supra- molecular donor-acceptor compounds: photoinduced electron transfer and light- harvesting antenna functions, respectively. The supermolecules will be based on polypyridine complexes of ruthenium and osmium. In the experiments, nano- and pico-second laser spectroscopy (absorption and emission) will be complemented by steady-state techniques and electrochemical measurements. The results are expected to provide new insight into the fundamental dynamic processes, as well as useful information for further development of supramolecular systems performing artificial photosynthesis or information processing.
