Project objective
It is proposed to perform spectroscopy experiments on proton-rich nuclei in the region around A = 40 as well as in the region around the doubly-magic nucleus l00Sn. The main part of the work will be devoted to the study of the beta-decay of 40Ti. The knowledge of the Gamow-Teller transition matrix elements within the 40Ti decay is of paramount importance for calibrating the detection of neutrino oscillation by means of the ICARUS experiment.
