Project objective
The Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) can be derived as an effective theory of a unified model of particle interactions including gravity. The latest precision measurements at the LEP collider are consistent with this physical picture and provide a tantalizing hint for the presence of a light Higgs boson and supersymmetric particles in the reach of LEP2. If supersymmetric particles are discovered at LEP, the Tevatron and/or LHC, a higher-energy electron-positron collider will be essential for a detailed study of the supersymmetric particle spectrum and couplings. The present project consists of: a) Developing techniques to identify new physics signals in the search for Higgs and supersymmetric particles at electron- positron colliders. b) Making connections between measured low energy parameters (masses, couplings, etc) and the underlying structure of the fundamental theory of particle interactions.
