The globalisation of economy and technology and the development of east asia

Project objective

The main objective of this work is to try to verify if the regional forces that are the most dynamic factor in the growth of countries like China, represent an alternative strategy to the triadic globalisation" or, on the contrary, are part of a world wide process of reorganisation of economy lead by the "triadic capital". This question is a crucial one for many reasons. First, it implies a different evaluation of the processes of reform taking places in many countries of the region: e.g., the decision to integrate China in the world economy was taken and it is still ruled by the Chinese leading group, or has been imposed from outside and it will result for the country in a greater economic vulnerability and in a reduction of political sovereignty? Second, if the development of East Asia is lead by regional forces, with different and contrasting strategies from those of the "triadic capital", does it mean that we are going to face a global struggle on the organisation of the world economy? And, yet, what does the development of this region say on the possibility to promote the development of other backward areas? "
