Strategic decision making - an integrative study of the process, context and outcomes of strategic decisions

Project objective

I aim to build on my ongoing research on Strategic Decisions (SDs) as follows: 1. further publications: The HCM fellowship has so far resulted in one publication, two presentations in conferences, a forthcoming international book on SDs and three papers under review in refereed journals. The task of the return fellowship is to see that this work is published. 2. expand to issues not addressed by the HCM fellowship, including: (i) the outcomes of SDs (quality/effectiveness of SDs, organisational learning and innovation), (ii) the effects of reward systems on Strategic Decision Making (SDM) and (iii) the development of an integrative framework combining the context, process and outcomes of SDs. 3. disseminate results to Greek industry and transfer managerial know-how accumulated at LBS. Note that the research is based on data collected from Greek industrial companies. 4. contribute to similar research undertaken at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and assist a doctoral student studying technological SDs. 5. continue building research links between AUEB and LBS. 6. expand the data-base by incorporating one more industrial sector.
