Project objective
Research objectives and content The overall aim of the proposed project is to investigate both the synthesis and a method of elucidating effective enantioselective receptors suitable for use in medium to large scale separations of race-nic mixtures of carboxylic acid derivatives. In order to achieve this objective the synthesis of combinatorial libraries of potential enantioselective receptors will be investigated and screening procedures used so as to identify particularly selective receptors. Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact) Working with Professor Gennari, who has considerable experience in organic synthesis and combinatorial chemistry, will provide an important opportunity for me to develop further my skills and knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry. It will also give me experience of the relatively new and fast growing field of combinatorial chemistry. Links with industry / industrial relevance (22)
