Project objective

The Warwick Centre for Supramolecular and Macromolecular Chemistry invites applications for postgraduate Marie Curie Training Fellowships, sponsored by the EU Framework 5 programme. These Fellowships are available for PhD students to come to Warwick for periods of between 3 and 12 months to receive training in techniques and methods at the interface of supramolecular and macromolecular Chemistry. The objective of the training programme is to provide the young researchers with an internationally competitive research training at the Supramolecular and Macromolecular Chemistry interface. The training ethos of the Warwick Centre for Supramolecular and Macromolecular Chemistry is the provision of training through research and hands-on application. This training is supported by Training in Presentation and Communication skills and Training through advanced courses Research fellows have the choice to either(a) come with their own research project to collaborate with the Warwick Centre and to benefit from the expertises, skills and techniques at Warwick or(b) gain new expertise through working on one of our own ongoing research programmes at the interface of supramolecular and macromolecular chemistry for the duration of their stay. Areas of particular expertise at Warwick are synthesis, characterization and applications in supramolecular chemistry including the use of hydrogen-bonding, pi-stacking and metal ligand interactions to control molecular architecture and function) in dendrimer chemistry (including catalysis and biomimetic dendrimer chemistry) in polymer chemistry and at the interfaces between these sub-disciplines. Applicants must be non-UK nationals pursuing their doctoral studies in a European country other than the UK, and will receive an allowance at the prevailing rate established by the sponsors.
