Project objective

The primary objective of this project is to develop the understanding of braid groups, particularly those of complex reflection groups, by describing and studying particular presentations for them, for which the corresponding monoid embeds in the group. Concretely, this includes looking for explicit presentations with the desired properties, and then finding natural descriptions for them (in the manner that the Artin presentations" for braid groups of real reflection groups correspond to the Dynkin diagrams of finite type.) Normal forms for elements will be sought, and consequently solutions to the word and conjugacy problems for the braid groups."
