Project objective
The Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at the Georg-August-Universitaet Goettingen, is offering fellowships of 6 months for doctoral and postdoctoral training in external modulation of human cortical excitability by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. DCS allows the induction of LTD (long-term depression) and LTP (long-term potentiation) effects in the human brain. tDCS is a new method that has been developed at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology which of high interest for any research fellow working on neuroplasticity of the human brain. In terms of possible clinical application, diseases such as epilepsy, movement disorders or stroke may be a future area of application.
