Project objective

Marie-Curie Visiting Doctoral Fellowships at the Research Center and Science College Computational Materials Science, Wien, Austria The Research Center and Science College Computational Materials Science" (CMS) at the University of Wien and the Technical University Wien (Austria) is seeking highly qualified doctoral candidates for extended visits of up to nine months. The candidates will participate in the research programs of the CMS, while continuing their studies in their home institutions. The CMS has activities and research interests in a wide area of computational physics, chemistry, and materials science, ranging from the development of advanced tools for abinitio calculation of materials properties and process modeling to application in front- line materials research. Current research projects include the physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces, hetero-geneous catalysis, structure-property relationship in inorganic materials (alloys, intermetallic compounds, minerals), magnetic materials (permanent magnets, materials with giant and colossal magneto resistance, ultra thin films and multilayers), fullerenes and nanotubes, melts and solid/melt interfaces.
