Project objective
The Training Site Materia Nova invites applications for Marie Curie-funded pre/postdoctoral fellows (12 months), starting January 01, 2002, in advanced interface engineering. Materia Nova is a multidisciplinary research centre dedicated to interfacial aspects of materials and polymers. Excellent laboratory facilities include XPS, TOF-SIMS, ellipsometers, X -rays reflectivity, AFM, STM. The research areas of the Centre covers many aspects of physical chemistry of materials interfaces, such as advanced coating, wettability, surface treatment and engineering, molecular modelling. The duties of the positions are to actively participate to the multidisciplinary studies devoted to materials and to develop research efforts within associated international and national programs in contributing to the further development of the facilities. At the predoctoral level, applicants less than 35 years old (from European and related countries, excluding Belgium) must be registered in a Ph.D. program. Their training should cover a relevant scientific discipline such as physics, chemistry or chemical engineering. At the postdoctoral level, the ideal applicant should have a strong research record in condensed or soft matter physics or chemistry, with experience in surface treatment and characterization. Current interests include, but are by no means limited to advanced coating, nanotechnologies, and sensors. Further information can be found at http://www.materianova.com or contact Prof. J.
