Doctoral training in experimental psychology

Project objective

Doctoral Positions in Experimental Psychology Applications are invited from doctoral students for Marie Curie Host Fellowships of 3 to 12 months duration, to be held in the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK. The Laboratory has particular research strengths in psychopharmacology, neuropsychology, perception, cognition (including cognitive development) and computational modeling. It was part of a 5-rated submission in the last UK Research Assessment Exercise, and so has internationally recognised strengths. The Host Fellowships will provide specialist research training in one of the Laboratory's areas of specialization. Fellows will be supervised by a member of the laboratory (see http://www.biols.sussex.ac.uk/GRC/EP for fuller details of current research interests). Depending on the period of their visit, Fellows may also have the opportunity to attend taught graduate training courses. Fellows will be expected to play a full part in the programme of internal seminars and discussion groups. Successful applicants for a Fellowship will hold a strong undergraduate degree or equivalent, and will be undertaking research for a doctorate, in a subject which is related to the research interests of the host research group, at a European university outside the UK. All training will be in English, and Fellows will be expected to meet the University's requirements for English language (IELTS score of at least 7.0, TOEFL 600 plus 5 TWE, or Cambridge Certificate Grade C).
