Project objective
The main general objective is to study the role of antioxidant enzymes in module formation and senescence. (1) We will use electron and confocal microscopy to localize H_2O_2, ascrobate peroxidase, and superoxide dismutatses in nodule cells and tissues. (2) These techniques along with transgenic Lotus plants will be used to study the expression patterns of antioxidant enzymes from module initiation to senescence.
