Project objective
Scientific exchanges of young researchers among the participating Institutions will provide them with the opportunity to deepen and widen their pre- and post-doctoral knowledge basis and skills in mathematical modeling, physical experimentation and computer-aided analysis. The majority of the proposed network participants are involved since 1992 into a European Network of Laboratories, called ALERT Geomaterials". Accordingly special courses on natural hazards, environmental Geomechanics and Finite Element / Distinct Element methods will be given inside the framework of the existing ALERT Graduate School, which is organizing successfully annual Schools since 1992 in Centre Paul Langevin (Aussois, France - CNRS)."
