Project objective
The tumour suppressor p53 is a key gene involved in a large number of cellular responses upon stress-signals as the growth arrest, apoptosis, DNA-repair, senescence or differentiation. The recent discovery of p53-familymembers, p63 and p73, has opened the question whether alterations of these genes can also account for abnormal cell-cycle and cell death regulation in cancers.
