The international conference on field programmable logic and its applications is the eldest and largest conference on all aspects of re-configurable computing. The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers from all over the world for a wide-ranging discussion related to all forms of re-configurability and its applications. The conference is organised yearly in Europe and attended by around 250 to 300 top-level scientists and researchers representing both industry and academia and coming from different countries of Europe and the world. The objective of this project was to ensure that young and starting researchers in the field of re-configurable systems could benefit from the experience of leading researchers in this field. More specifically, the project aimed at supporting young and starting researchers for attending the conference. This was achieved by: 1. a substantially lower fee for students, equal to 50 % of the regular registration fee 2. the organisation of a Ph.D. forum offering selected Ph.D. students the opportunity to discuss their research project with leading scientists and researchers in the re-configurable systems community 3. a travel and registration grant for all Ph.D. students selected for the Ph.D. forum 4. a limited number of participation grants, covering travel and registration fees, for young researchers wishing to attend the conference. the project helped early-stage researchers (ESR) to benefit from a world class conference, to get exposure for their research project and to interact and obtain feedback from scientific leaders in their fields. The project allowed to maintain and extend this European event as the leading conference in the field of re-configurable computing and to give exposure to the strong European presence in this research field.

The objective of this LCF proposal is to ensure that young and starting researchers in the field of re-configurable systems benefit from the experience of leading researchers in this field. The proposal is aimed at supporting young and starting researchers for attending the conference. This will be done by(1) A substantially lower registration fee for students (50% of the regular registration fee).(2) The organisation of a PhD forum offering selected PhD students an opportunity to discuss their research project with leading scientists and researchers in the re-configurable systems community.(3) A travel and registration grant for all PhD students selected for the PhD forum.(4) A limited number of participation grants, covering travel and registration fees, for young researcher swishing to attend the conference. The proposed LCF project will help early-stage researchers to benefit from a world-class conference, to get exposure for their research project, and to interact and obtain feedback from scientific leaders in their field. The project will allow to maintain and grow this European event as the leading conference in the field of re-configurable computing and to give exposure to the strong European presence in this research field."
