Project objective
The Researchers & Citizens Communicating on Show project, supported by the European Commission in the frame of the Researchers Night 2006, would like to be a tool to improve communication for the large public choosing as topic the very important role researchers play: they often are a silent engine" of everyday life, but, because of this silent running, public opinion doesn't seem to fully understand this added value.The challenge for the bid is not only to communicate to large public but also to demonstrate that the research's career is driven by curiosity and creativity and labs are places where these qualities are valorized. The Consortium, to achieve the objectives, will plan synergic activities putting in place complementary expertise and roles.The programme for the 22nd of September Night, which has been jointly defined, will be presented in at least three of the most important town in Piedmont: Turin, Alessandria and Vercelli. A very active role has been played by researchers, who have given relevant inputs to conceive the logic chain of activities and actions characterizing the RCCS proposal. They will of course play the role of protagonists in interacting with citizens and target public, ensuring the best development of the programme.Partners have acquired consolidate experiences in organizing events of relevant dimension and their contributions to the optimal working out of the Olympics Winter Games are the evidence. The Researchers & Citizens Communicating on Show, whose slogan is "RI CERCATORE(in)PiAZZA", joking with the Italian words, will start on June 2006 to finish on the 22nd of November 2006."
