Czech European Researchers´Night 2020

The objectives of the Czech European Researchers’ Night were: - giving public and local communities the opportunity to meet with researchers, learn about science and research, discover the latest inventions, innovations, technologies and new trends. - showing research careers as interesting, enriching and useful job that might entail a career path for everyone. - making science and research available in a simple and playful way. - promotion of the EU, highlighting the necessity and benefits of the international cooperation. The event focused also on science education, on the development of scientific literacy of the both pupils and students in order to raise the numbers of graduates with science qualifications but also of the general public/adults as only the informed public - critical consumers of scientific knowledge are able to understand and face global challenges of today´s world. The importance of public engagement was highlighted via broad spectrum of activities in order to mobilize the public, to facilitate interaction and mutual feedback between the researchers and general public in order to deliver the best possible outcomes from the science and research.

Цел на проекта

CzechNight covers Researchers´Nights 2020 in the Czech Republic. The main objective of the Researchers' Night is to give citizens and local communities the opportunity to meet with researchers, learn about their passion for science, the motivation that inspires them, the methods they use, and the results they achieve. It opens doors to the places where scientists work and brings also research to unusual places. At this event young people and adults can get insights into what it is to be a researcher and what kind of cutting-edge technology is used in modern research The key objective of the event is to show research careers as interesting, enriching and useful job that might entail a career path for everyone and to motivate and inspire the youth to enjoy, understand and pursue science and technology. General people, families, teenagers and children will meet and talk with outstanding scientists, see new technologies and innovations and get answers to their questions about science, research and scientific career. It presents impact of science in everyday life, it shows new inventions, technologies and methods which we use in our everyday life, at homes, in the cities, at schools, in medicine, transport etc. The aim is to point out the importance and benefits of research for everyone. Moreover, the researchers will get new point of view and inspiration and generally, it will lead to new questions and answers at both sides.
