The project »The Night has its Might« No. 101061505 addresses the problem of how to motivate (young) EU citizens for scientific research. Four different tools implement the answer: Citizen Science Project, diverse integrative and interactive activities at the NIGHT, Researchers visits at Schools and supporting promotion campaign. The project's importance for Slovenian and EU society is to enhance interest in scientific research among various interest groups. Citizens Science Project, an awareness campaign that focuses on a relevant and problematic science challenges, enhances scientific research among EU citizens. Citizens get acquainted with research methods, tools and implementation of research results. Researchers at Schools initiative focuses on the activities that bring researchers and research closer to the younger generation through direct contacts with pupils and students during the school year. Events promote the EU dimension, raise awareness of EU funded projects and motivate, enhance and integrate active and potential MSCA's in Slovenia. The project focuses on active, genuine, and spontaneous interest in science among young EU citizens. It also focuses on a relevant scientific challenge that get highlighted and generate structured results. The approach addresses the scientific problem and citizens can actively participate in research and search for solutions. The EU society can participate in active scientific research, STEAM activities and engage in different participation ways throughout the project The project's objectives, to: • Bring researchers closer to the general public • Increase awareness of research and innovation activities • Support public recognition of researchers • Create an understanding of the impact of researchers' work on citizen daily life • Encourage young people to embark on research careers Involve addressing more than 0,75 Mio people through a media campaign, more than 35.000 individuals, and other groups of interest in more than 20 cities along with the Republic of Slovenia. The objectives contribute to the primary research methodology of the actual research project. The success of NOCMOC includes in surplus of sites, organizations and researchers involved. The project's success reflects the excess of media reach. The diversity of participating organizations also shows that organizations' interest has resulted in a surplus of participating entities and researchers, which shows that the project successfully promoted science's popularization in Slovenia in 2023.

Engaging local, regional and national media, an introduction with awareness campaign Soil' Might will bring the project NOCMOC [NIGHTMIGHT] to Slovenian and other EU citizens for the fifth time.The core objectives of the project is to raise awareness about the research and its benefits, overcome stereotypes, stimulate curiosity and excite youth to take up the research careers.Efficient communication tools, successfully used in previous project editions, TV, radio, social media and press conferences will address 1.500.000 citizens during the project. The awareness campaign will explore Soil and include 3.000 groups, families and individuals to participate in Citizens Science project. Citizens' contribution to the basic research methodology of the real research project will be implemented by use of »hands-on« and other research tools in a simple and user friendly manner.Previous editions have developed a growing network of supporting partners in more than 25 cities in Slovenia and cooperation with Italian ERN SHARPER with which it attracts youth research career paths with EU dimension events.The NIGHT will bring together over 66 research-related institutions, raise awareness about research and innovation, its relevance to implement the Green Deal goals, its social and economic benefits and enhance a variety of research careers for 100 researchers, visiting 140 schools.We aim for 74.000 visitors from different target groups to take part in the NOCMOC activities spread all over Slovenia. Over 200 activities: science festivals on the main squares of four Slovenian cities, science shows, simulations, research and technical days in primary and secondary schools, lectures and workshops in public spaces (libraries, retirement homes, museums), science espressos, STEAM events, EU corners, on-line events and open doors of science, research and cultural institutions will attract the audience from dawn to late evening each last Friday in September two years in a row.
