Цел на проекта
The aim of the G9EU4RESEARCH project is to bring research and researchers closer to society in Spain through inclusive and engaging activities, highlighting the European dimension of science. The project is coordinated by the University of Cantabria with the participation of nine other public universities from the G9Group. The project will manage and implement the European Researchers' Night and its pre-events in 18 cities and the Researchers in Schools initiatives during 2026 and 2027.The project objectives are: (i) to connect citizens—especially young people, teachers, and families—with research and innovation; (ii) to raise public awareness about the social and economic impact of researchers' work; (iii) to promote EU priorities such as the European Green Deal, the Beating Cancer Plan, the Sustainable Development Goals, gender equality, diversity, and inclusion; (iv) inspire scientific vocations and support teachers in incorporating research-based content into education; and (v) raise awareness of the EU's role in supporting science and education.To achieve this, the consortium will carry out a broad program of activities combining science, art, humanities, and technology. Preliminary thematic events (Cancer Awareness Day, Green Week, Ocean Day, Inclusive Night, Film Forum, and SignaCiencia for the deaf community) and educational initiatives (Science Week, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Science Fair, Unizar Kids, Circular Science, Fake News Hunt, and UMUteachs Routes) will be implemented. Furthermore, the events will ensure accessibility and participation in rural and vulnerable areas.The project builds on 5 years of experience organizing national science outreach projects and will involve more than 3,000 researchers and 100 EU-funded projects. Its results will improve citizen trust in science and public recognition of EU support for research and innovation, foster scientific careers among young people, and strengthen inclusion and diversity.
