Цел на проекта
CITIES-IN-STEAM (Citizen Integration Through Innovative Engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics for Climate-Neutral Smart Cities) unites Lithuania’s leading universities — Klaipeda University (coordinator), Vilnius University, Vytautas Magnus University, Mykolas Romeris University, and Mokslo ir inovacijų sklaidos centras (Mokslo sala) — to connect researchers, educators, and citizens in shaping Europe’s sustainable, climate-neutral, and smart urban future.Through two editions of the European Researchers’ Night (2026 and 2027) and a year-round Researchers at Schools program, the project will make science visible, accessible, and inspiring for diverse audiences across Lithuania and beyond. Activities will include STEAM summer schools, citizen-science nature walks, mobile and digital laboratories, science-speed dating, and art-science exhibitions illustrating how interdisciplinary research—from oceanography and digital innovation to education, health, and social sciences—improves citizens’ lives.A dedicated Science Communication Academy will train at least 250 researchers and teachers in storytelling, inclusiveness, and digital engagement. All events will follow universal-design principles, ensuring participation from all regions and social groups.The project’s European dimension is strengthened through the partners’ participation in four European Universities alliances—EU-CONEXUS, ARQUS, Transform4Europe, and ERUA—providing access to 30+ universities for joint events, online exhibitions, and shared communication campaigns.In 2026, CITIES-IN-STEAM will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. In 2027, coinciding with Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, it will showcase European achievements toward climate-neutral cities.By combining creativity, technology, and participation, CITIES-IN-STEAM will foster curiosity, trust, and engagement with science, leaving a sustainable legacy
