Цел на проекта

ASCENT is designed to attract, support and empower outstanding early-career researchers wishing to establish their scientific independence within the University of Toulouse. Building on the site’s major strategic initiatives, BEST (doctoral COFUND under evaluation), AToUT funded postdoctoral COFUND), and the succesfull Toulouse Safe Place for Science initiative, ASCENT completes a coherent and continuous talent-development continuum, making Toulouse a leading European environment for research careers at all stages.Fully aligned with the objectives of the European Research Area, the European Green Deal and the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment, ASCENT provides fellows with secure employment conditions, state-of-the-art infrastructures, and a stimulating, inclusive and integrity-driven environment. Fellows design a personalised Career Development Plan integrating scientific goals with long-term professional ambitions, including training in advanced research methods, Open Science, FAIR data management, ethics and integrity, leadership, communication, project management, teaching and innovation. Mentoring, supervision, interdisciplinary exposure and international visibility are central pillars of the programme.ASCENT strengthens the regional research and innovation ecosystem by aligning with Occitanie’s Smart Specialisation Strategy and by contributing high-level expertise to strategic sectors such as aerospace, sustainable mobility, green hydrogen, digital technologies, health and environmental transitions. By offering a protected and empowering space for scientific creativity, ASCENT enhances the site’s attractiveness, supports researcher mobility, and enables fellows to contribute to frontier research while preparing for diverse career pathways in academia, industry, innovation, or policy. Ultimately, ASCENT consolidates the ambition of the University of Toulouse to become a Great University of Research with global reach and long-term societal impact.
