Цел на проекта

The AMBER HORIZONS programme will establish an ambitious postdoctoral fellowship scheme at the University of Latvia (UL), recruiting at least 8 outstanding early-career researchers across natural sciences & engineering, life & health sciences, environmental sciences, social sciences & humanities. Two-phase structure provides fellows with long-term career stability and a clear pathway toward permanent academic positions through UL's emerging tenure-track system. Fellows will benefit from UL's modern Academic Centre with 195 laboratories, comprehensive support services and extensive international networks. Research areas span cutting-edge topics aligned with Latvia's Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3) and European priorities: advanced manufacturing, cyber-physical systems innovations, emerging quantum devices, biomedicine, biotechnology, personalised healthcare, environmental restoration, climate resilience and societal resilience. Each position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, international networking, and career development through mentoring, training programs and clear progression pathways. The programme will generate long-term benefits at institutional, national and European level. Over the medium and long term, AMBER HORIZONS will increase Latvia’s contribution to the European Research Area, create a sustainable pipeline of high-calibre researchers, and enhance UL’s global attractiveness as a research employer.
