Цел на проекта

MERCI – Momentum for European Research Career at ICIQ aims to recruit four talented postdoctoral researchers at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química, ICIQ, and boost their career to become a ‘Group Leader’ at the centre or at related research centres and universities, with the possibility to remain linked to ICIQ as ‘Associated Researchers’. The specific objectives of MERCI are:1. Attract outstanding postdoctoral researchers to increase ICIQ’s research capacities, broadening its frontier research lines and contributing to the recognition and internationalization of the institute;2. Consolidate the centre as a talent development platform, becoming a reference institution for researchers’ training and career opportunities;3. Strengthen ties and collaboration with ‘Associated partners’ from the academic and private sectors.MERCI will allow to enlarge and improve ICIQ’s own ‘Advanced Tenure Track Programme’, one of the key actions within the Severo Ochoa plan – an Excellence recognition project awarded to ICIQ by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. MERCI will launch an open call and appoint a Selection Committee, applying HRS4R and OTM-R principles. As part of the evaluation, candidates will freely present research proposals that contribute to ICIQ’s main research areas.By joining ICIQ researchers will follow a clear career development path, including: i) Close mentoring by an internationally renowned Group Leader; ii) Progress monitoring and evaluation mechanisms; iii) Personalized Career Development Plan (CDP) and research career support.Additionally, fellows will benefit from opportunities for interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility through secondments. MERCI supports the Choose Europe for Science initiative, reinforcing HR best practices, opening new research lines, and contributing to regional, national, and European priorities by attracting global talent and fostering mobility within the European Research Area.
