Цел на проекта
Because of the increasing scarcity of high-class raw material for earth structures, the importance of geotextile reinforcement is steadily increasing. The design of such structures is rather complex because of the fact that we still know little about the mechanical behaviour of the soil-geotextile material. Thus, though many theoretical models are available in practice to design such structures, they are all based on a priori assumptions which may lead to dangerous results. During the period of the grant, the applicant will improve modelling of the soilgeotextile interaction, in order to provide a more rigorous tool for the design of reinforced structures. For this purpose, he will use the theoretical model elaborated in the framework of his PhD, and the great experience in soil testing and excellent equipment of the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of Aalborg University.
