Цел на проекта
This project is part of a larger study in telemedicine being conducted by LI2G, in collabaration with four European research units (TIDE proposal Teleger 2"). Telegerontology enables elderly patients and medical staff to establish two-way audio-visual contact, though a network of active "intelligent" cameras. This study will evaluate telemedicine from the user's point of view. A sample of convalescent elderly patients will be monitored to identify the stresses of immobility while hospitalised. The study will determine the dynamics of interactions between patients and staff, and assess their experiences as they use the system. It will establish the benefits of telemedicine and its impact in improving the care of dependent elderly people in institutions and in the community. The TMR candidate will supply complementary research experience as an occupational therapist/psychologist. She will gain valuable research experience, to develop her skills in measuring stress and user's views of a new health-care service. "
