Цел на проекта
Research objectives and content The quality of indoor air is often decreased by emissions of organic compounds from building products. Investigations at field conditions are useful to complete studies in which climate chambers are used. About 30 rooms in newly fixed flats and offices will be studied. Passive diffusion onto sorbent tubes and thermal desorption followed by GC/MS will be applied for indoor air analysis. The main objective is to study the long-term abundance of emissions from building products at field conditons. A series of ten measurements will be evaluated for each room. Furthermore, the sources of the five most abundant pollutants have to be identified. Finally, complaints about discomfort problems in newly fixed rooms, which need not to be involved into the long-term study, will be focused. The prevalent air pollutants are evaluated as possible causes, whilst the occupants inhale the single compounds at ppm concentrations. Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact) Further knowledge in the determination of indoor air pollutants, especially emissions from building products, and in the identification of their sources will be acquired. Experience in organizing field studies and insights into the pollutants' influence on occupants will be gained. Links with industry / industrial relevance (22) The rooms involved in the long-term study are selected in cooperation with AAke Larson Construction A/S. Manufacturers and constructors are interested in building products with low emissions of organic compounds.
