Накратко на български

Математическите модели за измерване на позицията и ориентацията на сонди в координатни машини се анализират чрез излишни данни за дължината. Това помага за по-точно определяне на грешките при производството на части за авиацията и индустрията.

Цел на проекта

Research objectives and content In co-ordinate metrology, the location and orientation of a co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) probe are inferred from three axis readings and knowledge of the repeatability of the CMM behaviour determined from prior measurements. The weakness of the approach is that only three measurements are used to estimate the six degrees of freedom associated with the rigid body motion. NPL is designing and constructing two new coordinate measuring systems, each of radically different design. but both using a redundancy of length measurements to determine the probe position and orientation. This project will develop a generic mathematical model of such instruments, looking at- numerical simulation/analysis to determine optimal system configurations - algorithms to determine system parameters from measurements - uncertainty estimation, to permit reliable quantification of the machine uncertainties in order to provide a sound theoretical foundation for their design. The model will also apply to other coordinate measuring systems such as laser tracking systems used in aerospace manufacturing. Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact) To gain expertise and skills in: mathematical modelling in co-ordinate metrology, non-linear optimisation, data approximation, numerical analysis, scientific software engineering. Links with industry / industrial relevance (22) The NPL project is in partly in collaboration with Brown & Sharpe Group Ltd. a leading manufacturer of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines and British Aerospace, a major user of coordinate measuring systems. The new CMMs will ultimately provide an important link in establishing the traceability of CMM measurement in manufacturing to the standard for length. The mathematical modelling will also be used to develop methodologies for verifying the performance of coordinate measuring systems in aerospace manufacturing. NPL runs a Co-ordinate Measuring Association, a special interest club for manufacturers, suppliers and users of coordinate measuring systems, as part of its national technology transfer activities.
