Цел на проекта
Research objectives and contentBy using data set as already created at IMI and the Institute of Work Psychology, we will study how the composition (size, diversity, professional backgrounds) and decision-making processes of top management teams influence their effectiveness and the performance of their companies.Questionnaire data held at IMI and extensive videotape data of top management team decision-making will be augmented by further data gathered from top management teams in Ireland in order to determine how team composition, decision-making and other group processes influence team and company performance.Training content (objective. benefit and expected impact)Those in the IMI will be trained in the use of multi-media decision-making simulations to study) top management teams functioning. Theoretical bases for research on teams: group decision-making, team effectiveness and innovation will also be thoroughly described. Methods for undertaking detailed analysis of top management team decision-making and functioning will also be shared with researchers in the host institutions.Links with industry / industrial relevance (22)The research will be conducted in collaboration with top management teams in Eire and will involve feedback to those teams on their programme. The teams will be involved in the execution of the project and in helping to disseminate the results of the work.
