Marie Curie Fellowships at the Netherlands Research School for Astronomy NOVANOVA is a federation of the astronomical institutes at the Universities of Amsterdam, Groningen, Leiden and Utrecht, with a research program focused on:* Formation and evolution of galaxies: from high red shift to the present;* Birth and evolution of stars: the life-cycle of gas and dust;* Final stages of stellar evolution: physics of neutron stars and black holes. The program involves development of new instruments for the ESO VLT, the ESO-VLTI, and the Atacama. Large Millimeter Array, the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope, and for Laboratory Astrophysics. Interested candidates should send a curriculum vitae and publication list, a brief description of their research experience and interest, as well as two letters of recommendation to the NOVA Office. They may also wish to indicate which of the NOVA institutions (further information on our website) they prefer as training site. Modern astronomy requires a broad range of skills. Knowledge of physics and mathematics is a prerequisite. Marie Curie Fellows will learn to cope with practical limitations of real data, to develop algorithms for handling data imperfections, to pan and carry out observations on international facilities, to work effectively in international collaborations, and to carry out numerical simulations.
