Цел на проекта
The Scandinavian countries, often considered in their whole as a pioneering block in their evolution towards a welfare state, are, in reality, much more diverse than that. The aim of this research is to demonstrate that this divergence regarding family policies has deep historical roots, originating as far back as the 19th century, when women's and children's labor was regulated. The relationships between the State and the family print a notably different image of women as mothers in society, in Norway and Sweden for instance. The confirmation of the ancient cultural foundations of this divergence could lead us to conclude that its vanishing will be very slow and that the so-called 'Scandinavian Model' has to be looked in detail if one thinks to use it with efficiency as a model for other European countries with different cultural bases. At the end of 19th century, work regulations about children and women put their imprint on the other social laws aiming at protecting children and women. That's why the research will be focused on repercussions of labor legislation on family policies.
