Цел на проекта
PhD students from across Europe are invited to apply for a stay of up to 12 months at the University of Manchester, Bioinformatics Education and Research (UMBER)' ' site. As a Marie Curie Fellow you will learn a broad range of skills in this rapidly expanding and most sought after field. You are given the opportunity to take modules in our ground-bracing MSc course and participate in individual and group research projects. You may participate on an a la carte basis in the M.Res. Programme and may obtain a graduate degree in Bioinformatics in addition to your PhD from your home institution. The Bioinformatics MSc Course is very popular, well established, complemented by a distance learning course and the EU-wide EMBER project, which aims to develop a Multimedia Bioinformatics Educational Resource (see www.bioinf.man.ac.uk/teaching for information). The program comprises lecture courses and practical including theory and application of bioinformatics methods, communication, programming, academic and industrial modules. UMBER, a joint operation between the School of Biological Sciences and Computer Science, has 9 members of staff, and combines world class research with a truly unique selection of subjects comprising theoretical biology, databases, genomic, proteomics, sequence analysis, ontologies, pathway modelling, array analysis, molecular modeling and many others. Excellent equipment in hardware and software and a highly skilled support team are available. This call is typically for students in IT or life sciences who have had, so far, little or no bioinformatics experience and wish to learn theory and application of methods to support their PhD and future career. Manchester is very lively, dynamic and multi-cultural, with many students, a rich choice of cultural, social and sporting facilities and national parks nearby."
