Накратко на български

Взаимодействието на светлината с материята изследва как лазери и рентгенови лъчи влияят върху атоми, молекули и плазма. Тези процеси помагат за по-доброто разбиране на физичните и химичните динамики в микросвета.

Цел на проекта

The training site is located in Saclay in the south of Paris. It is close to the University of Paris-Sud in Orsay with which we have much collaboration. The site is composed of 49 researchers/engineers and 12 technicians/administratives as permanent staff, 18 doctoral students and 7 postdoctoral fellows. Research is centred on the interaction of light with matter, either regarded as a fundamental topic or used as a preparation and diagnostic tool. On physics side, research includes studies of laser-matter interaction under strong field and plasma physics. On a more physical chemistry side, the objective is to study dynamical processes in the interaction of molecular systems with light (IR, visible, VUVor XUV) at moderate intensity. To this end, the site operates a large number of highly performing and complementary sources that range from CW to femtosecond and IR to VUV lasers. We have also direct access to synchrotron radiation at the nearby facility of LURE. On these different facilities, development of new VUV and XUV sources, such as high order laser harmonics generation, X-ray laser or free electron laser are actively supported. The candidate should have part of his or her doctoral work connected with one of the topics investigated in Saclay, which can be viewed either as mainly experimental or theoretical. To this condition, he or she will be integrated in the Service's team most concerned, to develop a fruitful collaborative work. This should insure a maximum benefit for both of the parties. The experimentalist fellow will have access to light source facilities where he (her) will gain rich and advanced experience in various fundamental and technical physics. The theoretician fellow will work with highly experienced seniors, with performing hardware and software computing tools.
