MARIE CURIE TRAINING SITES FOR STUDIES OF TRANSPORT PROCESSES AT SURFACES Training sites of 12 months are available in Trondheim, NTNU, for doctor degree candidates from all over Europe. Researchers are invited to join the integrated research groups at Departments of physics, chemistry and material technology and electrochemistry, and take part in studies of surface phenomena at liquid/gas, solid/gas and liquid/solid interfaces, at equilibrium and under non-equilibrium conditions. Our aim is to improve the understanding of the role of the surface as a catalyst or a barrier to transport. The form of activities range from experimental work, mathematical modelling and molecular simulation. Experimental work and computations can be carried out on world-class equipments and computers. Expertise is available on electrochemical kinetics, impedance spectroscopy, irreversible thermodynamics, reactions at surfaces, scanning probe techniques, photoelectron spectroscopy, tunnelling microscopy, computer modelling and molecular simulations We offer an inspiring working environment to persons who want to understand the interesting processes that occur in and at a surface, and how one can use this understanding to find better ways of reacting or separating chemicals. We ask for candidates with a Master degree in chemistry and/or physics. The candidates should be enrolled in an experimental or theoretical doctor degree program directed towards an understanding of processes at a surface. Marie Curie fellows will join the integrated research team, and have all available services from NTNU, including social services, university courses, computer networks, application software, library and high quality laboratory facilities. Two of our 10 professors and 3 of our 18 doctoral students are women, and we encourage strongly more women to join our group.
