Цел на проекта

The training aim is to enhance the supply of plant scientists who can accurately characterize the effect of a mutant gene on plant growth and development, especially in the field. This programme concentrates on training in use and development of imaging technologies and associated informatics for use in plant physiology, in a multidisciplinary background (molecular biology, through cell and plant physiology to field biology and modeling, with remote sensing and image analysis). Training will be individually tailored to fill gaps in trainees' experience. Each trainee will be exposed to the collective expertise of the network through annual meetings of participants and short visits (averaging 2 months per year) to participating laboratories. Training in transferable skills will be important; the post-doc with the co-ordinator will gain valuable experience with research management. Training will be 'on-the-job' by existing personnel in the laboratories with specific extra skills gained from short courses or specific project related practical projects related directly to the interests of the young researcher.
