Цел на проекта
The research training will cover the main aspects of new industrial catalyst development from initial product conception to production. It will include both heterogeneous and homogeneous catalyst preparation at laboratory and semi-tech scale, use of advanced characterization and testing techniques, High Throughput Experimentation (HTE) for accelerated screening and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to guide the manufacturing process. The research is aimed at the faster development and introduction of new catalysts into the market place. The Fellows will leam project management techniques including the assessment of projects at each stage-gate to ensure that the eventual products are driven by customer requirements. It will show the Fellows how research is driven in a high technology customer-responsive business environment. The research training will require the Fellows to form close working relationships with both the strategic and business-led research functions in addition to other functions (sales, marketing, production, engineering etc.) at different stages of the product's development. This will require the Fellows to develop interpersonal skills such as influencing and persuasion along with their presentation skills. The Fellows will gain these skills both 'on the job' and by course-work. either classroom based or via the Synetix intranet. The Fellows will be given structured business management and professional/personal skill training via the company's European Graduate Development Programme. This consists of four events lasting three days each held over two years and provides a basic grounding in all aspects of business understanding, management, teamwork and leadership.
