Накратко на български
Автоматизираните телескопи наблюдават обекти, които се променят бързо, като например оптичното сияние след гама-вспышки. Това помага за по-доброто разбиране на енергетиката и средата на тези космически явления.

Final Activity Report Summary - TVASWAT (Time Variable Astronomy and Spectroscopy with Automated Telescope)
Automation of astronomical observations is becoming crucial in the study in various fields of astronomy. In this project we focused on two areas: observations and analysis of optical afterglows of Gamma Ray Bursts which fade away in a few hours to a few days and therefore require rapid automatic response of a telescope to alerts provided by gamma observing satellites, and automated observations of a large sample of astronomical objects, which is too time consuming for classical observations by human astronomers. We used the experience obtained in the project of the 2-m robotic Liverpool Telescope to continue our involvement in its observations and analysis of optical afterglows of Gamma Ray Bursts. This research work resulted in publication of our results in a number of high profile papers in astronomical literature, which enhanced the understanding of these objects, their energetics and environment. We also put this experience in the project of automation of the 0.7-m Vega telescope and initiation of spectroscopic observations with it; the significant experience gained is useful also in view of our involvement in the Gaia mission planned by European Space Agency, particularly in Gaia's Radial velocity spectrometer group.

Цел на проекта
Following a 2-year MC Fellowship at Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), Liverpool John Moores University in United Kingdom, working on a project of the world's largest (2m) robotic Liverpool Telescope (LT), I plan to return to University in Ljubljana, F aculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMF) in Slovenia as a Teaching Assistant and to re-integrate in the Astrophysics Group at FMF, both in scientific and pedagogical aspect. My objectives for this period are:- to continue collaboration with the LT Group at ARI in the area of time variable objects and particularly in rapid follow-up of Gamma Ray Bursts with the LT and comparison of their early afterglow curves with theoretical models;- to use my knowledge and experience with the robotic LT, obtained during M CF, and to put it in the project of the Golovec Telescope (GT) (owned by FMF, which is currently in its final commissioning phase), and to manage its automation and automatic spectrograph;- to initiate with the GT automatic monitoring spectroscopic observa tions of bright objects, with emphasis on variable astronomical objects. Part of observations will be used in on-going preparatory work for the European mission GAIA, in which members of Astrophysics Group at FMF are heavily involved, particularly in Class ification and Radial Velocity Spectrometer Groups and testing of automated procedures used for classification and spectroscopic determination of radial and rotational velocities of a large number of stars;- to obtain a permanent position at FMF and, in a l ong run, secure my scientific and private future,- to transfer my knowledge in the field of astronomy and experience in astrophysical research, international collaboration and software development to undergraduate and graduate students at FMF, - to improve general knowledge in astronomy through workshops for astronomy teachers, public astronomy lectures and by giving scientifically correct information about astronomical events to media.
