Final Activity Report Summary - PREPARE (Priority European Programme in Advanced Regional Economics)
The project PREPARE aimed to prepare European PhD students and young researchers for a scientific career in regional science. This was done through a series of four intensive summer schools and the integration of participants into the European conferences of the regional science association. The program outperformed the expectations of the organisers. By bringing together top level researchers as lecturers and a selected group of highly qualified and motivated students, PREPARE managed to form a network of European researchers in regional science who cooperate, support each other and have already become recognised as young competent researchers.

Цел на проекта
PREPARE offers an integrated structure of training, active participation, and discussion for PhD students and young researchers active in regional science. The aim of PREPARE is to improve the participants' abilities to work as a high quality researcher an d member of an international scientific community.The main elements of PREPARE are- summer school events with an advanced training component, a presentation component, and a career strategy component,- special sessions at an international congress (European Congress of the Regional Science Association), and- an electronic archive and support area. In the selection of eligible participants priority will be given to applicants from CEE countries and to women.PREPARE will be implemented in the framework of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), a scholarly association registered in Belgium, with 18 national/language sections in most parts of Europe. ERSA has extensive experience in organising conferences and summer schools.
