Цел на проекта
Sustainable development has become a core aim when defining future states for society. Sustainability is challenging both concerning what it implies and what is demands of us.Over the last decade muche research has been developed to help sorting these issues out. New knowledge is gradually changing research agendas, and university curricula. Still, the field is undeveloped and quite heterogeneous. Challenging is also the demand for interdisciplinarity.The aim of this STC is to give young researchers the opportunity to get a deep and coherent introduction about the new theory and methods in leading universities across Europe:- Analysing Complexity (Univ Autonoma de Barcelona)- Institutional Analysis of Sustainability Problems (Slovak Academy of Sciences)- Method and Tools for environmental appraisal and policy formulation (Univ. Nova de Lisboa)- Integrated analysis of complex, adaptive systems (Univ. of Sussex).The series is coordinated by the Norwegian Univ. of Life Sciences. All institutions have long experience in doing sustainability research and are very active in developing relevant theory and methods. A large number of well renowned academics are invited as keynote speakers and lecturers.The courses will be at PhD level and targeted at early stage researchers. They will have duration of 2 weeks and together with individual course-work give the participant the opportunity to earn a diploma of 5 ECTS per course.Much effort is put into securing coherence between the events. Beyond the experiences earned by the participants, dissemination will also be directed towards non-participants increasing worldwide access to the material developed.Through the various elements of the proposal we intend to support future policy-making and help developing excellence in European research.
