Цел на проекта

The proposed project explores the technological capabilities building in the software industry in Bulgaria. Undertaking the analysis in a transition country context allows integrating institutions, an issue, which has been greatly ignored in the literature about technological capabilities building.The research adopts an interdisciplinary perspective in order to enrich our understanding about the process of technological capabilities building and to make the concept of technological capabilities building m ore cohesive, by introducing insights from the institutional theory.The research explores the process of technological capabilities building in the two major groups of companies to be found in the Bulgarian software industry the local-market oriented and the export-driven companies. The study is based on qualitative and quantitative research, drawing upon results of two surveys undertaken in 2001 and 2004, and case study research.
