Цел на проекта
Raised by the European Commission and within the Marie Curie proposal, ALDEBARAN Marine Research & Broadcast will carry out a Researchers Night Surf the Earth" in Hamburg on 22 September 2006 at and in the name of the Centre for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (ZMAW).The SME science coordination and communication agency ALDEBARAN will organise the event, in close cooperation with the ZMAW, which are involved in all disciplines of earth system and climate research. The objective is to attract a diverse target group, consisting mostly of young people, inform them about the fascination of the different scientists working in earth system and climate research.Different forms of presentations have the combined effect of being entertaining and easily understood, but based on solid science. An Opening with a simulcast to the island of vulcanos Stromboli will welcome the audience and introduce the event. The "solid science" activities will consist of "hands-on" experiments and demonstrations, understandable films&lectures by scientists in which they tell about their background, their working methods and their research followed by question and answer sessions.For children, a "Kids Laboratory" is planned. Several hands-on activities, experiments & game s for children will be offered and the work of ZMAW and ALDEBARAN with Hamburg's pupils in connection with the youth competition "Research at Sea" can be experienced. In addition, there will be an exhibition/demonstration of diverse instruments used in earth system and climate research together with films showing their use in the field with a dive container live demonstrating the work of research divers.In an outdoor area the guests will find a "sea buffet&bar", music and a giant projection screen showing an edutainment programme with themes from research, climate and the sea. "Surf the Earth!" will be transmitted live over local television and radio stations in order to reach as large an audience as possible."
