Накратко на български

Криофизиката и криогениката изследват поведението на материята при екстремно ниски температури, като например в ускорителите на частици или космоса. Тези знания помагат за развитието на технологии в нанонауката, астрофизиката и инженерството на реактори.

Final Activity Report Summary - CRYOCOURSE (Marie Curie Advanced Cryogenics Course)

The European intensive course on Cryophysics and Cryogenics, covered all aspects related to the science and technology of low temperatures. Advanced training in world leading low temperature laboratories has been offered to PhD students, post-docs and other young researchers and engineers from universities, research centres and industry. During the period 2007-2010, 5 events gathering 254 participants were organised with the support of the Marie Curie EU Programme: 2 Training Practical Courses ("CRYOCOURSEs") of 12 days each (Grenoble 2007, Helsinki 2009) 3 Training Conferences for Young Researchers (CRYOCONFERENCES) of 5 days each (Madrid 2008, Grenoble 2010, Kosice 2010) The theoretical and practical ("hands-on") courses covered the main topics of cryogenics, from the fundamental physics to the industrial applications. CRYOCONFERENCES, on the other hand, provided young researchers with a unique training in science and techniques, developing their skills in conference presentations. Excellent young researchers and engineers interested in cryogenics and low temperature physics found in CRYOCOURSE the opportunity to learn about fundamental and industrial issues in Cryogenics in direct contact with the experts in the field, to meet with their peers in a favourable working environment, establishing strong links with the low temperatures community active in many different fields: condensed matter, nanoscience, material science, particle physics, astrophysics, cryogenic industry, accelerator and reactor engineering, large-scale neutron and X-ray facilities, space cryogenics, etc. CRYOCOURSE also played an important role in disseminating advanced scientific and technological knowledge, in the spirit of the Marie Curie Programme. Цел на проекта

The demand of training in cryogenics for researchers and students has steadily increased following the development of research at low temperatures in physics and technology (nanoscience, nanotechnology, material sciences, low noise electronics, detectors for astrophysics, cryogenic propulsion for rockets, super-conducting magnets for accelerators in particle physics and large scale fusion research, etc.).The objective of the Course is to provide European young researchers from laboratories, large- scale facilities or industry, with practical training at the doctoral and post-doctoral level in the field of Cryogenics. This will be achieved by lectures and practical courses given by teachers belonging to prestigious European research centres and leading cryogenics enterprises. Training several hundreds of young researchers in advanced cryogenics requires adequate facilities and skilled technical staff only available in a few large low temperature laboratories in the world. In Europe, Grenoble and Helsinki are internationally leading institutions is this field, with a long tradition in training in Cryogenics. Two training courses are foreseen (Grenoble and Helsinki), as well as two conferences, organised in two other European countries. This course will contribute to develop the competitiveness of European research and industry by providing valuable training, disseminating scientific and technological knowledge, favouring the links between academic and industrial research, and creating strong professional links between event participants from different countries. This activity will also enable researchers of countries where knowledge in cryogenics is not developed to bridge a technological gap. The participation of women, under represented in our field, will be encouraged. The positive effect of these courses is demonstrated by our experience of cryogenics training at the level of undergraduates (Socrates CEE Programme).
